This is our first members’ invite to what may be the most important movement convergence this year: the United States Social Forum 2015. May First/People Link has always been in the leadership of the United States Social Forum and this convergence has never been more important. With every aspect of life in capitalist society falling apart, our movements must get together to answer three basic questions: What is the function of an economy and how do we construct a just one? What is true democracy and who should be included in it? What is a productive relationship with our Mother Earth and how do we regain that? This year, 2015, the US Social Forum is gathering to begin the process of answering those questions collaboratively and it is taking place simultaneously in three locations: Philadelphia PA, Jackson MS, and San Jose CA with satellite activities in Canada and Mexico. All at the same time. All hooked up technologically. The url is https://www.ussocialforum.net There are two registration options for people planning to attend: You can either Register as an individual and select the Forum site you’re planning to attend https://www.ussocialforum.net/register/individual OR Register as an organization and register either three people (for $125) or 10 participants (at $200) https://www.ussocialforum.net/register/organization Organizations that register may go on to apply for a workshop or People’s Movement Assembly. Workshops require two organizational sponsors. PMAs require four. (nb: If you register as an organization, participants can attend the Forum at different sites.) Remember that you can also register for the Forum in person but we encourage you to register as soon as you can. That will allow organizations to propose workshops or PMAs (that registration process will close in April) and it also supports our organizing the Forum since the event is mainly funded through registrations.
