Sequestration, Prohibition, and Me

Just finished my second year class at the National Fire Academy and decided to spend an extra two days in DC wandering around.

Turns out that today is the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition in DC!!!  Whoohoo!  Also, sequestration officially started today.  Its hard to put a finger on the mandated changes, but everything seems 5% less interesting (in a general, non-specific way…)  Finally, its Kosmo Spoetzl’s birthday on Sunday, so I plan to go to the “Texas Hill Country BBQ” here in DC and sample some of the six different Shiner beers that they have on tap there.

Oh, and I also went to the National Archives, Library of Congress, Bureau of Engraving, and the Supreme Court.  ALL FREE!!!  The only drawback was standing in line behind a few college girls who complained that the White House tour they took wasn’t very interesting because its just an old building…
