It’s Easy Livin’ in Chiang Mai

We’ve only been in Chiang Mai for about two weeks now but we settled in so quickly that it feels like we’ve been here much longer.  This northern Thai city is definitely the most Westernized, clean and touristic place we’ve been to so far on this trip, which explains all the expats wandering about.  This has its drawbacks, of course, but man is it easy living here!  Perfect weather, neighborhoods with lots of trees and small bungalows, loads of hipster restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops, and beautiful temples, or Wats, dotting the skyline.  We found a nice, modern place to live (Eliza would swim in the rooftop pool constantly if she could–we have to drag her out when her lips turn purple), and a fantastic bilingual Thai/English preschool—Eliza’s first school experience and she’s loving it.  Nate has discovered some great co-working spaces and has been exploring the city by bike to track down the best markets and street food.  Oh, the food is just to die for.  Street food stalls with sit-down tables can be found on almost every block and whip up amazing soups, noodles, curries, etc. for about $1/plate.  We’re really enjoying our cushy life here while it lasts!
