Adventures in Kathmandu

We have been having some fun times in Kathmandu!  Visiting temples, walled gardens, organic farms, the zoo, markets, ancient cities, eating incredible local food (King Curd.is.the.best), and just relaxing and enjoying living in a well-appointed house.  A Christmas tree was even shipped in from the states for the occasion, and a Nepali Santa made a surprise appearance, scaring the kids half to death.  Heat!  Bathtubs! Playgound in the yard!  What more could we want, really?  Eliza and Marisa are having a blast together–Marisa now says “I want that” and “I’m done” and calls me “Mommie #2.”  We’re hoping she doesn’t also pick up Eliza’s bad two-year old habits of grabbing toys from unsuspecting youngsters and being obsessed with chocolate…

The girls have playgroup a few times a week with other expat kids and oodles of nannies, leaving me and Miyoko time to explore and relax a bit.  I highly recommend a visit to the Koike/Freitas guesthouse–what incredible hosts.  We’ll be sad to leave next week for Thailand…more updates soon that will make your mouth water (we’re primarily going to Chiang Mai for the food, of course)

  1. So good to see the little girl cousins get together and learn to share parents, stuff and memories. Cousins seem to be very important in our family.
